Sky Garden: a little slice of eden (and a dash of vodka)

The Rich Gypsy Blog Sky Garden

And a hovering cloud of candy floss? This beautiful bar is officially my new local.

The recent office relocation means this slice of eden, high in the sky on Fenchurch Street is just a short walk and an elevator ride after a week of hard graft.  Not bad, ay?

Boasting spectacular views of the Shard, the London Eye, the Gherkin, the Cheese Grater and St Paul's to name but a few (and my office too!)

Reservations at Sky Garden go quick. I made one over 6 weeks ago and crossed my fingers the guys would be London based for the day to grab a post work cocktail!

They do operate walk-in's from 6pm but with a reservation you can skip, run and hop straight in the lift to floor 35 and descend on the bar, to be served almost immediately.

Where a lovely bow tie wearing waiter limbers up for his Thursday Club cocktails performance...

whilst Shane waited patiently to pay (such a gent!)

The watermelon frozen margarita was the special of the day and the Santos's tipple of choice.

Blended and poured.. uhh generously into frosty saucers.

And decorated with precision - mint leaves and watermelon seeds.

Two more silver cups were expertly shaken up.

And embellished with that awesome floating candy floss cloud.

We settled at our table to catch-up on the week and toast to it almost being the weekend - thank god!

It's a two hour sitting, for the table at least - so we thought we'd make the most of it

and even ordered up a little sharing charcuterie board to nibble at!

*That look when you see your food coming.... * Hey Kayls?

And a few more cocktails to wash it down...

The cocktails were so instagram-worthy.

Although some, just wanted to drink the bloody things!

But gave into the camera eventually

The live band were great, they played throughout the evening.  It was like being a really good wedding - especially when a Barry White rendition filled the room.

We popped up to the top of sky gardens, before settling our tab and calling it an evening. A pretty perfect end to Thursday!
