The Festival of Light at Longleat

Grab your coat and wrap up warm for a whistle stop tour of Longleat's unmissable Festival of Light installation.

Mr. S and I popped by a few Friday eve's ago after work to see the giant lanterns for ourselves and we weren't disappointed... although Longleat seems to have a bit of small snail problem.

It was an absolutely bitter evening weather wise so we wrapped up warm and shuffled around the glowing winter wonderland with giant smiles and red cheeks starting with Mr. McGregor's garden...

Now those tomato's would be perfect for bruschetta.

It was very busy and plenty of little humans running around admiring the giant lanterns carefully placed across the lawns of Longleat house.

The squirrels were possibly my favourite...  playing pass the parcel with the nuts!

The gardens were packed with Beatrix Potter characters, it genuinely was quite magical strolling through the flower lined pathways.

Our ticket included entry to Longleat House which we were very grateful for as it was freezing outside.  We defrosted in front of the roaring fire, listened to some of the house staff who were brilliantly in character wandering amongst the guests and admired how Harry Potter the whole place felt.

If you're not a Beatrix Potter fan there really is something for everyone at the Festival of Light, we spotted these marching together on our way out...

And absolutely chuffed to find my spirit animal...

A perfect twix-mas treat for young and old alike!
