Festive feasting at The Woodspeen

We kicked December off in style with a festive feast with a few of our favourites at The Woodspeen (try saying that 10 times over). You know the drill - expensive but tasty cocktails, perfectly cooked fillets of juicy beef and a layered latte nightcap to end the evening.

This cocktail was a rather potent concoction, served in a chilled glass, then mixed over ice and finished with a spiral of lemon peel garnish by The Woodspeen mixologists.  Then sipped not-so-slowly by Liz and myself whilst the boys munched on the home-cooked crisps and did their best craft beer wanker impressions.

I recommend arriving early for a reservation at The Woodspeen the bar nibbles and the cosy velvet bar snug area is a lovely prelude before being seated in the main restaurant.

The glasses were topped up and we toasted to a lovely December and great company!

We nibbled away on the complimentary bread and delicious dip whilst catching up on the months gossip and exciting events.

An expertly choreographed group of waiters presented the first plates and we all fell silent in anticipation before politely grabbed our weapons of choice and getting stuck in!

A picture perfect dish of hake and roasted root vegetables.

The charred ribeye steak with triple cooked chips was a popular choice.

Mr. S and I both went for the tender beef fillet served with buttery mash, mushrooms and curly kale.

Two satisfied customers right there.

Make that all six!

The food and the service was exceptional as always and the gang seemed impressed!

With much prosecco consumed everyone was very jolly and Liz and I even used a trip to the bathroom to stage a mini photoshoot before our desserts arrived.

My festive red dress (FRD) is from New Look.  Cute little number, right?  Here's some festive red dress inspiration - perfect for December!

I am not the biggest Woodspeen dessert fan in the world I usually opt for a post dinner cocktail at this point but decided to push the boat out and settled on a layered latte.

There were some good looking dessert combinations on our table though.

We left feeling very merry and our bank accounts a little lighter!  But not before a few cheeky snaps to mark the occasion.

Top evening team.
